Titanium ethylhexoxidedescription
Titanium ethylhexoxide, a reactive organic alkoxy titanate with ca. 100 % active content. Titanium ethylhexoxideis a clearcolorlesstoyellowishliquid.Whilestillahighlyreactiveorthoester,TiOTislesssensitiveto moisture than TPT andTnBT.
Titanium ethylhexoxideApplications
Reaction Catalyst : Titanium ethylhexoxideis used as a catalyst for esterification, transesterification, condensation, andadditionreactions.Typicalreactionproductsinclude,(meth)acrylicesters, polyester, plasticizer, various esters, polyurethanes, etc. The benefits of using TiOT include elimination of by-products, increased yield, easy work-up, low catalyst concentration, and low toxicity.
Coatings: Glass, metals, fillers, and pigments can be treated with TiOT to give increased surfacehardness, adhesionpromotion, scratchresistance, coloringeffects, heatandlight reflection, iridescence, and corrosionresistance.
PaintAdditive:Titanium ethylhexoxidecanbeusedasanadditiveinpaintstocross-link–OHor-COOH functionalpolymersorbinders,promoteadhesion,oractasabinderitself.
TiO2PigmentandFilms:Micro-ornano-scaleTiO2pigmentscanbeformedfromTiOT.It canalsobeusedtocreateapolymericTiO2filmonsurfacesviapyrolyticorhydrolytic(e.g.
sol-gel) processes.
