Palmitic acid Usage
Mainly used as surfactant. When used as nonionic, it can be used in polyoxyethylene sorbitan monopalmitate and sorbitan monopalmitate. The former is made into a lipophilic emulsifier and is used in all cosmetics and Medicine, the latter can be used as emulsifier in cosmetics, medicine, food, dispersant of pigment ink, and also used as defoaming agent;
When used as anionic type, sodium palmitate is made into sodium palmitate and used as a raw material for fatty acid soaps, plastic emulsifiers, etc.; zinc palmitate is used as a stabilizer for cosmetics and plastics;
In addition to being used as a surfactant, it is also used as a raw material for the synthesis of isopropyl palmitate, methyl ester, butyl ester, amine compounds, chlorides, etc.;
Used as edible spices and food defoaming agent.
